The 12 Week Blowdry

After much investigation and talking to people who have tried this I decided to treat myself to the 12 week Blowdry. Also known as "The Brazilian Blowdry" this treatment is used to tame unmanageable tresses and lasts for 3 to 4 months.
I went into Mizu of Riverlane, Dundalk and the girls were very friendly. They explained that this isn't a straightening treatment, but it smooths out your hair and puts all the goodness back into it. After having a disaster with hair extensions last year, I needed all the goodness I could get.
The girl washes my hair and leaves the shampoo in for 5 minutes. After rinsing my hair , their are two girls putting pure keratin into every strand of my hair. The product is called Global Keratin Hair Taming Treatment and smells of oranges.. After this is applied the girls dry my hair and seal every strand with straighteners. I am then strongly advised that I shouldn't tie my hair back or clip it up or even put it behind my ears until I get the treatment washed out. This was going to be a long 4 days.

Day One;  My hair looks smooth and is frizz free. Although tempted to put behind my ears I resist and enjoy the rest of my evening.

Day Two; I wake up to find my hair is still pretty straight apart from one side which went a bit wavy from sleeping on it. The girl told me to keep straightening my hair if I came across any wavy bits so I do that a few times throughout the day. My hair is still shiny and sleek.

Day 3; Okay, I now feel like someone has poured cod liver oil all over my head, my hair looks straight and frizz free but it feels greasy. I remind myself that it will all be worth it... One more day to go so I avoid leaving the house and use the straighteners a few more times.

Day 4: Yipeeeee, I am getting my free wash and blowdry today. It is needed as I now look like someone who hasn't washed their hair for a month. I made an early appointment so I didn't have to spend the rest of the day looking like a grease monkey.

THE END RESULT; My hair looks fab, the girl recommends I buy the Shampoo and Conditioner which is €39 and they give me a complimentary Kerastase room fragrance. I leave a very happy bunny.

One week later; I have washed my hair a few times myself now and every time it has been so easy to style and takes less that 10 minutes. I let it dry naturally the other day and it went into a lovely wave with no frizzy bits. No more need to use frizz-ease or any other lotions and potions to smooth your hair. I find you only need a little shampoo and the conditioner is lovely, again you only need a little bit so this should last the full 12 weeks.
The treatment cost €180.00 and that includes a complimentary wash and blowdry 4 days after the treatment is applied. I thinks its great value for money and would recommend it to anyone. Mizu have a page on facebook and they always notify you of offers so keep an eye out as they sometimes do the treatment for €150.00
Think of how much you spend in 3 to 4 months on Blowdry's??? This could be your Saving Grace!!!

Summer is upon us!!

I wake up some days and look out the window and think great, its sunny, maybe I'll take the summer wardrobe out.. Then the clouds arrive and it starts raining. My Mum will always say to me "Never cast a clout til May is out" which basically means, dont take out the summer stuff til June... I never listen..
I looked at all my plant pots and they looked horrendous and I wanted to cheer up my garden a bit so I decided to go and get some lovely plants... After that, I was on a role so I then packed the kids up into the car and went in search for a table and chairs. I came accross an old table and chairs in a charity shop in Newry and got the whole lot for €30.oo, bought a tin of duck egg green paint for €15.00. I couldnt wait to get back and start my little challenge..
I had old cushions in the attic which I covered with bits of material that I had bought last year from the Remnant Basket in Dundalk for €5.00

The end Result; My new table and chairs look amazing and I cannot wait to sit out in my garden (whenever Summer decides to arrive) and have tea and scones...

The paint was bought from colourtrend and the colour is "Reflection"

I hope this inspires you, instead of spending huge money on garden furniture from your local DIY shop, go look in second hand and charity shops. You will certainly find something you can restore or give new life to. I have and it feels brilliant..

Out and About

I decided to take a stroll into town today with my 2 little men Matthew & Darragh. After bribing them with jelly tots, they sat in their Phil and Teds while I explored a boutique called Neola. It is situated in River Lane, Dundalk and they also have a shop in Malahide, Dublin.

I have to say that this shop is great little find, they have a great selection of brands such as Diesel, Miss Sixty, French Connection, 7 for All Mankind and True Religion. The selection of dresses for weddings or a night out on the town is great. They also stock a great range of Guess handbags, Gucci sunglasses and their store in Dublin has Hudson Jeans.

The staff were very friendly and if you are going to a wedding and buy your dress from them they will take your details to make sure nobody else from the wedding party buys the same outfit as you.

They also have a website http://www.neola.ie/

The jelly tots ran out and so I didnt get to try on any of their lovely items.

I wish them all the best and would like to thank them for their friendliness.

Next time I willl leave the boys with their Nan so I can have a proper rummage..

Florals

This season, florals are everywhere. There are so many different styles and aspects of the floral trend and are all so pretty and feminine. www.asos.com have a wide selection to choose from. I've just purchased this lovely French Connection Maxi dress which will be perfect for a summer garden party, holidays or even worn with a short denim jacket for a trip into town.

Just remember, if you are fabulously curvy, avoid big prints, keep it simple with small floral patterns. Smaller framed women can wear bigger, bolder patterns as it will add curves. To show off the favourite part of your body such as your chest or small waist, add a pattern such as a blouse or a big belt, and to hide areas you don't like, such as hips and bottom avoid wearing big patterns in that area.

If some of you cant see yourself wearing florals, how about adding just a little bit to brighten up your outfit. You could add florals by using accessories such as jewellery, belts, bags or shoes.

These shoes are gorgoues and are by Irregular Choice. They are a steal at €81.25 and would look amazing with a little black dress.
You could wear them all year round. I love these and think they have a real vintage look about them.

I also love this little butterfly floral purse, a bargain at only €18.75.

The ring is from Juicy Coture and costs €87.50 and the belt is ASOS own brand and costs just €7.50.

Watch out ASOS I am about to go Crrrrrrazzzzzy!!!!!

GOSH Make-Up Primer

Do you ever look at TV ads or photos in a magazine and wonder how to achieve that flawless look with your make-up????
Well have no fear I have the perfect solution. I have tried and tested the GOSH Velvet Touch Foundation Primer and can tell you all here and now that this is an amazing product to have in your make-up bag. You have to apply it after moisturising and using a brush apply your foundation afterwards. It glided on so easily and looked flawless. I usually have to apply concealer everywhere but I didn't need to this time except for a tiny bit under my eyes (I had a late night!!). My make up lasted all day without re-touching.
The packaging is very nice and not unlike the chanel products. It is a pump applicator which I am not usually a fan of, but this works brilliantly.
This is available in stores nationwide and I purchased mine from McCabes Pharmacy Dundalk for less than €25
Let me know what you think of this product...

Grab yourself a designer bargain!!

Like most women, if you love designer clothes but not the price tag that comes with them, then I have the website just for you. "The Outnet" is a sister website to net-a-porter that was created last year selling past season and reduced designer labels. You can pick up anything from Christian Louboutins shoes to 3.1 Philip Lim dresses.

They also have what they call "Flash Sales", once subscribed you will recieve emails letting you know what deals are on. There are three different sale events
Pop-Up Sales; This is a time limited sale which usually lasts up to 72 hours.

Going Going Gone Sales; Like a reverse auction. Once the sale clock starts ticking the price just keeps dropping and it will only last a very short time so you need to keep on the ball to grab an amazing bargain. When you add the item to your basket it will lock in the price so you need to be patient as if you add the item to your basket to early you may miss out on a super low priced item...

Giveaways; Once registered, you wil be in with the chance of recieving something for nothing. Yes, this is real. You must be over 18 to enter. All you have to do is submit your details and cross your fingers.. I Loooooooove it!!!

I came accross these fabulous Antik Batik beaded suede sandals. With 50% off they are a steal at only €66.84 and are bang on trend for this season. Team them up with ripped denim shorts and blouse or a colourful maxi dress. I know I'm going to grab myself a pair before they are gone..
